The great Otis Redding left 4 children: Dexter, Karla, Otis III and Demetria (Dee-Dee) who was adopted after his death.
Otis III made a trip to Paris at the beginning of August and met our french friend JC Morlot (www.soulcorner.com). He learnt there of Isaac Hayes' sudden death and told that he had composed together with David Porter a tune named Sometimes for his next album which was being recorded at Willie Mitchell's Royal studio in Memphis.
Otis III has already done 6 albums, 4 for Epic and 2 for Polygram.

The Porretta Soul Festival, Italy will held July 19 – 22 with a “Tribute To Stax 50th Anniversary” with Booker T. & The MGs, Wayne Jackson of the Memphis Horns plus the Blues Brothers Band with Eddie Floyd, Jimmy McCracklin, Sir Mac Rice, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Sweet Nectar (Jimmy’s background singers ), Betty Harris, Jon Tiven Band, Toni Green plus 2 background singers from Memphis, Austin DeLone R&B Band and more.
There will be a second stage in the Porretta place for afternoon concerts and a Rufus Thomas Café where you will be able to listen many good groups: CIV Soul Band with Bobby Johnson (France + Jamaica), Awek (France), Sweethearts (Australia), Dr. Brown, Bononia Sound Machine, Mr. Pitiful, Distretto 51 & The Capric Horns and more.
Don't forget the Soul Food, a popular market with the Emilia Romagna region typical products.
The Porretta Museum will have an exibit about 20 years of soul music and video rarities.
