BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1936 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Ruby Johnson first recorded for V-Tone and Nebs. She signed for Stax / Volt in 1965 where she did some great sides produced by Isaac Hayes and David Porter. As Mable John, she didn't have the luck to get an LP, until Ace Records issued the great "I'll Run Your Hurt Away" CD. Died april 19th, 1999.
