MABLE JOHN

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Bastrop, Louisiana, November 3rd, 1930 and sister of Little Willie John, she recorded for King and Tamla Motown then came to E. Mc Lemore Ave., Memphis, Tenn. in 1966, where she was heard until 1968. She continued singing, notably among Ray Charles' Raelets. Mable John was an absolutely underated Stax singer and Ace records finally did her justice by issuing what should have been an original Stax album, "Stay out Of The Kitchen", a few years ago.
