HOYT JOHNSON
BIOGRAPHY
He was a C&W singer from
Arley, Alabama (info from Sandra Richardson). A terrific writer
and singer. Hoyt had a hit on RCA Victor in the late 50's. He was
invited to be a member of the Grand Old Opry, however his
drinking got in the way. Hoyt later performed regularly with The
Cavemen, featuring Mabron McKinney{founding member of The
Hourglass w/ Duane and Greg Allman} J.C. Raynor(Beautiful High
Tenor voice} Scotty Moore on guitar, and Jerry Grammer (later
working with Dan Penn and The Nomads, Charlie Rich, The Clovers,
many more artists that later became famous}. Hoyt was a wonderful
musician-entertainer all around musician, a great writer.
