Andrew Maurice Love was born in Memphis on Nov. 21, 1941, three days before Wayne. Jackson. He got his first saxophone in the ninth grade from his mother, a church organist.

Andrew Love did recordings for Hi Records in Memphis. After hearing that Stax, which preferred horns to backup singers, was looking for a saxophonist, he got a job there. The next day he was playing with Wayne Jackson on a Rufus Thomas record and stayed with him as a member of the famous Memphis Horns.

They received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award,the highest award in the Recording Industry, on February 2012, at the Special Merits Awards Ceremony in LA.

He died on april 12, 2013 from Alzeihmer disease.
