MEMPHIS STAR ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES
A MEMPHIS MUSIC REVUE

(May 7th, 2002)

Isaac Hayes

Al Green headlines, and special guest Isaac Hayes performs the show of all shows. Southhaven, Ms., Thursday, June 6, 2002, Memphis Star Entertainment presents Multi Grammy Award Winner Al Green, Oscar and Grammy Award Winner Isaac Hayes, Grammy female vocal group the Emotions, and Memphis Internationally known Lovemen, the Temprees in concert.

The event will be held at the Desoto Civic Center in Southhaven, Ms.  (10 miles south outside of Memphis) at 7:30 PM.  The concert is two nights before the Lennox/Tyson fight. With an amazing run of charts success that includes hits such as 'Let's Stay Together', 'I'm Still In Love With You', 'Call Me (Come Back Home)', singer songwriter Al Green has been soul music leading vocalist, beginning in the early 1970's until now.  The songstress Ann Nesby, from the group 'Sounds Of Blackness' will make a Cameo Appearance with Al Green performing their current hit single 'Put It On Paper'.

Super Soul Singer Isaac Hayes revolutionize soul music with his hit album Hot Butter Soul', Hayes introduce narrative monologue or 'rap' that have been copied by numerous other artists for years to come. Hayes career reaches new height when he penned the sound track of the film 'Shaft'.  The 'Theme from Shaft' earned Hayes an Oscar for best song, and a similar honor at the Global Golden Awards.
Green and Hayes have never appeared on a show together, and Memphis Star Entertainment realizes that history will be made on June 6, 2002.

A family trio of sisters, the Emotions, has been classified as the most successful black female group of the 1970's.  Recording for Stax Records in the early 70's, the Hutchinson siblings cut a series of soulful songs such as 'So I Can Love You' and 'Show Me How'. However, the group had their biggest success with hits like 'The Best Of My Love', and 'Don't Ask My Neighbors' under the guidance of  Earth, Wind and Fire's Maurice White.

The male trio from Memphis, the Temprees, are a captivating falsetto-lead Love Ballad group that is known for their innovated interpretation of earlier songs, the most poplar 'Dedicated To The One I Love' (led by Del) and 'Love Maze' (written by Scotty). Harold 'Scotty' Scott, Deljuan 'Del' Calvin, Jerry 'JC' Calvin, have quite a following of fans that are attractive to their rich sound and live performances. The Temprees have out-dated all of the groups from the midsouth area that came about during the early 70's and 80's period.

Larry Dodson of the BarKays will be the Emcee of this show of all shows.
Tickets for this super show will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002.  Tickets will be available at the civic center box office and at all Ticketmasters outlet. Tickets prices are: $50.00 - $95.00.  The show will seat 8553.

THE OTIS REDDING FRENCH SITE
 (April 22nd, 2002)

Otis Redding, Paris

A great web site about Otis Redding is taking shape at http://perso.club-internet.fr/jpp-product/. Though in french, worth a look for the documents and photos alone. A first page in english (more to come) at http://perso.club-internet.fr/jpp-product/nouvellepage1.htm with a very interesting and moving text from Alan Walden (already found on this very site). Great thanks to my french fellow Jean Paul Pecreaux.
